AN office romance, thwarted by the Second World War, blossomed into a 60-year marriage for a Blackburn couple.
Dora and Norman Lee, of Preston Old Road, met while working for Birtwistle's Mill, Darwen, in the late 1930s. They married in 1941 Norman -- now 86 -- was posted in Ireland during the war.
When the war ended, he became an engineer, while Dora, 88, ran a sweet and tobacco shop in Darwen.
They couple were also the captains of Blackburn Golf Club in the 1960s.
