TWO Methodist churches have combined their midweek events because of dwindling attendances.
The Wilpshire and Langho churches will now meet once a month for a joint fellowship. The idea is that by sharing resources they will help each other prosper.
Only seven people attended each of the individual midweek events before.
The Reverend Colin Anderton, of Wilpshire Methodists, said: "They will be less formal than a Sunday service, but more structured than a house fellowship.
"Prayer and Bible Study would play an essential part.
"The Wilpshire/Langho section felt quite strongly that there should be greater co-operation between our two churches, so that we might share resources and help each other to grow."
The alteration does not affect the Sunday services, which continue to attract healthy congregations.
The first joint meeting is in Langho Methodist Church on October 16 at 7.30pm.
