HBLACKBURN indie band The Burn join the highly-rated Haven for the October dates of their UK tour.

The two bands first worked together at Manchester's Night and Cafe, where they played regularly before being discovered.

The tour takes in Leeds, Liverpool and London, and the final show in Manchester is expected to sell-out. It has re-located to the University's Hop and Grape the gig now takes place on Friday.

HPOOKA, the female singer songwriter duo which features Darwen-based Natasha Jones, appear in Manchester next month. Playing at the Band on the Wall on October 25, the pair will be airing material from their two new albums Shift and Fools Give Birth To Angels. With an experimental style that flirts with a range of influences, their trademark is biting lyrics worked around acoustic guitars.

HWINNER of the Nick Cave competition was Mr Ireland, from Brierfield, who correctly identified the musician's nationality as Australian.
