A PLAN to save and manage the South Pennines is being launched this week in Todmorden Town Hall.
The 10-year strategy will help preserve a dramatic and distinct upland area which forms part of the backbone of England. Surrounded by West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and east Lancashire, it centres on Hebden Bridge and Bacup and stretches to Keighley in the north east and Chorley in the west.
Councillor Sydney Collard said: "The strategy is excellent news for the landscape and people who live and visit the Southern Pennines."
