BURNLEY MP Peter Pike will attend the School Governors One Stop Shop at Ewood Park on Friday, October 5.
The Shop is a body which helps to match potential governors to schools across Lancashire.
Mr Pike said: "Schools are becoming more autonomous, taking on responsibilities for their own budgets, maintenance and direction, in the way a business does.
"People with experience of modern businesses can help schools tackle these issues successfully. I am very much looking forward to my visit and finding out how the One Stop Shop works with employers both locally and and nationally, actively marketing the role of, and need for, school governors.
"Recruiting governors with transferable business skills will add significant value to school governing bodies.
"School Governors make a long-term contribution to raising educational standards in our schools."
