JAMES Coonan grabbed the only goal of the game as Great Harwood defeated Atherton LR at the weekend.
And after a 4-0 drubbing at home by Shildon the previous week manager Denis Underwood admitted: "It was nice to get a clean sheet.
"All the lads dug in and did their bit and we deserved the three points. We were on top for most of the game and we had a few other chances."
The crucial goal came in the first half after Andrew Cox had hit the post from a corner. The ball broke to Coonan 12 yards from goal and he fired the ball into the top of the net.
But victory came at a price and Underwood explained: "We have got a couple of injury doubts ahead of tonight's home game with Mossley.
"Both Andy Clarkson and Neil Baron are struggling to be fit and so I might have to make a couple of changes."
RESULT: GT HARWOOD...1 ATHERTON LR...0
