A SPECIAL thankyou night was held in the staff dining room at Burnley General for the hospital radio team who broke the world record for broadcasting.
Chris Berry, who calls himself Charlie Tuna to present his request show on Hospital Radio Burnley, completed a marathon broadcast of 75 hours and three minutes in March to break the world record and earn a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Chris completed his marathon broadcast by playing Belinda Carlisle's Heaven is a Place on Earth before signing off to go home exhausted -- four days after he first switched on the mike.
It took the team six months to plan the record attempt and throughout the days they had 100 volunteers to provide steward, witness and medical cover.
