POLICE have issued a reminder to cyclists to keep their bikes secure after two bikes were stolen from the Darwen area over the weekend.
At 4.45pm on Sunday a 15-year-old ran after a thief after he saw him steal his yellow mountain bike from outside his house on Lord Street. The thief went in the direction of Richmond Terrace and Robin Bank Road.
Police are looking for a man in his early 20s, 5ft 8in tall with black stubble, wearing a light blue fleece, black trousers and white trainers.
A bike was also stolen from outside Sidco Newsagents on Blackburn Road on Saturday at 12.15pm. The red, 18-speed Raleigh mountain bike was left by a 14-year-old.
Sgt Andrea Bradbury of Darwen police advises bike owners not to leave their bikes unattended and to use bike locks.
