A YOUNG boy had to be plucked to safety by the fire brigade after climbing more than 50 feet on to a mill roof to find conkers.
Simon Lang, 10, leaned over from the top of a huge chestnut tree to reach the roof of Unity Mill, Lower Darwen, then got stuck.
He claimed that a friend told him the biggest conkers had fallen on to the mill.
