ASHLEY SIDDLE is waiting to hear if he has been accepted to the University of Missouri in the United States.
The 18-year-old Rossendale player wants to join up with his friend and fellow golfer Ben Scott, who is there on a golf scholarship.
Scott has told Siddle there is a place available and Siddle hopes to start in January.
"I am working in the shop at Rossendale while I wait to hear from Missouri," he said.
"It would be great to go to university over there.
"I'll have to pass an SAT test but Ben says it's pretty easy!"
Siddle is waiting to play the final of the Rossendale club championship against Mark Whittaker, which might eventually go ahead this weekend after a number of cancellations due to the weather, and he is hoping to retain the title.
And he was part of the Lancashire Boys team to lift the County title last month.
Playing the anchor role, he took 4 points from a possible six to help win the title from under the noses of Warwickshire.
"That was great, really exciting. It was one of the highlights of the year."
