FOREIGN Secretary Jack Straw was today telling MPs that the world would win its war against terrorism in the wake of the US terror attacks.
But the Blackburn MP warned of a "long, hard struggle" to do so.
Mr Straw was to speak in a emergency Commons debate after Prime Minister Tony Blair outlined some of the evidence against prime suspect Osama bin Laden.
Mr Straw said: "We will make sure that there will be no safe haven for terrorists anywhere in the world."
He said that there was a massive coalition across the world in memory of the victims of 70 nations who died and said that government was determined that the Afghans and others would not be able to continue to harbour terrorists.
The Afghans had a choice over whether to hand over Osama bin Laden or suffer the consequences.
But the Foreign Secretary made clear: "We have no quarrel with the people of Afghanistan who have suffered from the Taliban regime."
