DARWEN family Paul and Cheryl Cook and their son Lee were all winners at the Sport 2000 Super Sprint Triathlon at Kirkham.
Paul was the winning veteran and nearly won the race outright. In a dramatic finish, the fastest run of the day by Chris Nicoll was just enough to snatch overall victory away from Paul by four seconds.
Third, and only 20 seconds further back was Lee. He produced the fastest swim of the day on his way to the junior title.
Meanwhile Cheryl finished 11th overall in a field of 83.
Fell winner DANNY Hope, who works in Accrington, was the joint winner of the Great Hameldon Hill Fell Race on Sunday.
In the tightest of finishes, the first six were covered by 40 seconds. Danny, representing the Achille Ratti Club clocked 38mins 32secs for the six mile course. Clayton had three of the first eight with Garry Wilkinson third, Mark Horrocks fifth and Mark Brown eighth. Scott Monk of Blackburn Harriers was fourth, while Rossendale's Andy Payne took sixth.
Walker flies BURNLEY flyer Danielle Walker added to this season's impressive tally with two more victories at the weekend.
She was the winning Under 16 at a 1.5 mile cross country race at Carnforth, then in a four mile road race at Pateley Bridge, near Harrogate, she beat all the senior ladies. Not bad for a 12-year-old!
Graham retires ROD Graham has retired as Rossendale Harriers Track Manager after five years in the post. Rod left on a high note after medal winning performances at the Blackpool Illuminations Meeting.
Natalie Williams set a Grade 2 Standard 42.6 seconds in the under 15 5/8s 300m on her way to a silver medal, and she took a second silver in the 100m. Dan Davies won two gold medals at under 15 level as he claimed victories in the 600m and 1200m, and he also finished 2nd in the javelin. The medal haul was completed when Anthony Gotts took 3rd in the senior 300m.
Snape victory SANDRA Snape of Blackburn Road Runners was the winning F35 at the tough Langdale Half Marathon posting 1hrs 48mins 40secs in awful conditions.
Sandra is training for the Snowdonia Marathon where she will be running to raise funds for Derian House.
Elsewhere Clayton Harriers Paul Brannon and Andrew Taylor were M40 winners.
Paul took his title at the Warburtons 5K at Bolton with a time of 17mins 14secs, and Andrew logged 1hr 39mins 38secs at the Garstang Half Marathon where he finished third overall.
Michelle Dew of Rossendale was the winning lady at Bolton, while Ted Orrell was first M60 at Garstang.
