PENDLE Enterprise Trust has been awarded the title of STEP Agency of the Year 2001 for its work as a managing agent of the Shell STEP Programme.
The programme, which was created by Shell UK, was formed in 1986 and the Trust has since been managing quality student placements in East Lancashire.
More than 600 students have been given the opportunity of carrying out short-term management-style projects in local host companies during this period.
The award is also to recognise the partnership between Shell UK, STEP Enterprise and Pendle Enterprise Trust.
Ron Moorish, executive director of the Trust, said: "This award only serves to reinforce the work of the local team at the Trust and recognises the exceptional achievements in delivering high quality placements. It also strengthens the Trust's work within the local business community and means a great deal to us personally.
The STEP Programme is financially supported in Pendle by Pendle Partnership and Business Link East Lancashire and their support is greatly appreciated."
