ONE of Shakespeare's funniest plays, Twelfth Night, is set to have audiences in stitches at a local theatre.
Tickets are selling out fast for the classic production, by Leyland's C'est Tous Theatre Company, who perform at the Marsden Theatre in the picturesque surroundings of Worden Park.
Twelfth Night tells the hilarious tale of twins Viola and Sebastian, who are shipwrecked and separated on a far away island. During the play the audience are introduced to some of William Shakespeare's most famous characters, from the bawdy Sir Toby to the sweet Viola.
The action begins with Orsino declaring his love for Olivia -- who isn't interested because of a seven-year vow of celibacy. Then Viola -- disguised as a man -- begins to work for Orsino, and falls in love with him!
Permanently drunk trio Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria provide plenty of laughs.
All the plots interweave with each other, and in the end everyone finds happiness -- but not before plenty of laughs and trouble.
The production runs on October 10-12 with matinee performances, and from Thursday, October 11 to Saturday, October 13 with evening performances.
