EMPTY bottles which had contained tablets for epilepsy were found next to the body of a man in a caravan in Radcliffe, an inquest heard.
Deputy District Coroner Matthew Cox opened the hearing into the death of unemployed labourer John Darren Hayes.
The body of the 36-year-old had been discovered in bed at the static caravan where he resided in Doffer Fold Farm, Brookbottom Road, on September 23.
The hearing was told Bury-born Mr Hayes had been on long-term sickness benefit.
Coroner's officer Mr Geoff Cave told the hearing that the bottles contained tablets prescribed for Mr Hayes' wife, who suffered from epilepsy. She formally identified her husband's body.
An investigation by CID officers had ruled out any third party involvement.
The coroner was told that a post mortem had been carried out and that samples had been sent off for toxicological analysis.
The hearing was adjourned pending the outcome of further laboratory tests.
