THUGS hurled a brick through the window of a house where Afghan asylum-seekers were living.
The attack was one of four weekend incidents around the borough which police are treating as racially-motivated.
An Asian taxi driver was also threatened at knifepoint and two Indian restaurants were targeted by vandals.
On Friday morning (Sept 28), thugs struck at the Prachee Indian Restaurant in Whittaker Lane, Prestwich. Racist graffiti was daubed on an outside wall and a ground floor window was smashed, causing damage totalling £80.
Just before 1am on Sunday (Sept 30), a window at the New Chutney Indian Restaurant in Bury Old Road, Prestwich, was smashed by a brick. Two men were seen running from the scene following the incident, which caused £600 worth of damage.
On Saturday (Sept 29), vandals targeted a house in James Street, Radcliffe, which police say is occupied by asylum-seekers from Afghanistan.
A half-brick was hurled through a front room window, causing an estimated £200 worth of damage.
And at 12.40am on Sunday, police arrested a man in Bury New Road, Whitefield, after an Asian taxi driver was threatened at knifepoint and subjected to racial abuse.
