THE huge effort that went into Radcliffe's Giant Crafts Fair and Classic Car Show certainly paid off.
The hundreds who swarmed into the town centre on Saturday (Sept 29) were spoiled for choice as to what to do.
They could pick up a unique gift at the craft fair in Radcliffe Civic Suite, admire the classic cars on display in the car park, enjoy a fairground ride or a Punch and Judy show in The Piazza, take part in a treasure hunt in the Market Hall, and soak up the sounds of Radcliffe Male Voice Choir and Tottington Brass Band.
And pictured taking a look under the bonnet of this pristine 1926 Rolls Royce, which featured in the classic car show, is Mr Ronnie Dootson.
Councillor Barry Briggs, the chairman of Radcliffe Area Board, said: "It went extremely well and far exceeded all expectations.
"The purpose of the day was to attract people into the town centre and we certainly achieved that. We estimate there were about 2,000 more people than usual and we will definitely be making the day an annual event."
The venture was jointly organised by Bury Council and Radcliffe traders, and they could not have chosen a better day as the sun shone solidly throughout.
Coun Briggs said: "All credit to those who helped make it such a success."
