RAMSBOTTOM United manager Mike Kelly has signed Curzon Ashton's Stephen Shiel.
The defender, who can play at centre half or left back, may be thrown straight into the team for tonight's game against league leaders Mossley at the Riverside.
"I thought after that miserable performance on Tuesday night when we got beat 3-1 against Curzon Ashton I would throw him straight into the team, or he might start on the bench," said Kelly.
"He will be involved. I signed him because Warren Brierley has had a setback and Mark Thomas, who is a fireman, isn't available for every game."
The Rams are looking for their third win in four league games and are without Dave Roach (knee) and Brierley, whose knee injury has flared up again.
