ROSSENDALE United are in talks with Accrington Stanley's Paul Burns about a move to Dark Lane.
Dale manager Jim McCluskie said: "I made an enquiry but Paul is injured at the moment. I spoke to him last night and we decided to wait a week or two.
"We have just lost Matt Knowles until Christmas through work commitments and I know Paul would come in and do a job for us.
"I played with him at Morecambe and he is vastly experienced."
Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman said: "Jim has seen that Paul hasn't been in the team and that is because he has been suspended.
"But I always keep my players informed of approaches by other clubs and when I told Paul about Rossendale's enquiry he asked if he could speak to them.
"He is not a player I'd particularly want to lose though."
Dale face Witton Albion away in the UniBond First Division tonight and McCluskie has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from.
"David Gray played a full 90 minutes last week which was pleasing and Chris Willcocks has had a run-out in the reserves."
