LIFE in Afghanistan can only be called an existence.
The fanatical Taliban regime bans most pleasures including playing cards, musical instruments, videos and cassettes, fashion, statues, volleyball, greetings cards, chessboards, fireworks, lipstick, nail polish, photographs, dancing and music, to name but a few.
However, there is one thing on their prohibition list that I do agree with -- and that's caged birds.
