DENIM was the order of the day as people throughout East Lancashire took part in Jeans for Genes day to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
From school teachers to bank managers, children to pensioners, thousands adopted the casual look as part of the national annual fund raiser on Friday.
Every baby who attended Le Monde Petit Nursery in Burnley donned jeans yesterday to help raise money.
And the Jeans for Genes Appeal is likely to have benefited from more than £70 as all of the 16 staff on duty and nearly all 60 children at the nursery wore their jeans and denim dungarees with pride.
At Brunshaw Primary School in Burnley all staff and 435 pupils sported their jeans at school.
Head teacher Neil Tranmer even joined in the fun with the pupils as the science co-ordinator Catherine Greenwood, who organised the event at the school, took the assembly.
He said: "We banked £220 for the appeal. It was a good easy way of raising lots of money for a very worthy cause. It was strange coming to work in my jeans though!"
