ANGRY soccer fans jammed police switchboards last night as kick-off time chaos hit England's Under-21 international at Ewood Park.
Tickets for the sell-out game carried a start time of 7.45pm -- but two weeks ago European football governing body UEFA switched the kick-off to 7pm to synchronise with Germany's match with Finland on under-21 shoot-out night.
Sgt Stuart Bruce, of Blackburn Police, said: "Our telephone lines couldn't cope with the number of calls. People seemed to want to blame the police for the mix-up instead of UEFA.
"A lot of people were upset, and it caused us major traffic problems. People were obviously listening to the radio on the way and realised the match had started."
No-one at the Football Association -- which organised the big match night -- was available for comment today.
