A WIND-SURFER was rescued from rough seas at South Shore, Blackpool on Sunday afternoon.
The rescue operation began just after 2.30pm, after a member of the public reported seeing the man, who has not been named, in the sea near to the go kart station at Starr Gate.
A police spokesman said several patrols from South Shore attended, as did the Police helicopter, and the man was spotted about 25 ft from the shoreline.
"The coast guard attended and the man was rescued by means of a lifeline being thrown," he said.
"The man had been wind-surfing in poor conditions."
He said the man refused medical attention, and the operation was over by 2.50pm.
