A DEVELOPMENT which would bring more tourists to Colne could be given the go-ahead this week.
Blakey Hall Farm which was until recently a working farm is now being used as a bed and breakfast, with the farmhouse providing accommodation and a second farm building being used as two holiday units for disabled people.
The latest application is to convert part of a former agricultural storage building in to holiday apartments and to attach a double garage with balcony over to the side of the building.
Planning officers have recommended the plans for approval with a condition that amended plans are submitted showing the deletion of the garage extension and its replacement with a smaller store and stone steps to provide access to the first floor apartments.
They said they extension would form 'an unsympathetic and inappropriate addition to the barn' and was contrary to Green Pelt policy.
The applicants have been approached and the resuls of the negotiations about alternatives to the extension will be reported to the Colne and District Committee meeting on Thursday.
