A RAIDER who terrorised a woman and young child after breaking into their home has been jailed for a total of three years..
Burnley Crown Court heard how knifeman David Hindson, 22, whose later lost his temper again, was "dangerously out of control," and made "sickening threats of violence" to another victim in the same street.
Sentencing him, Recorder Teresa Griffiths told him he had a very bad record for violence and would not be allowed to terrorise the neighbourhood.
Hindson, of Steiner Street, Accrington, had pleaded guilty to burglary and common assault in May, and affray and possessing an offensive weapon in August.
He was also re-sentenced for offences of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and common assault.
The court was told the defendant broke into the woman's Accrington house, armed with a shovel, while her child was at home and was violent towards her and her property in front of the youngster.
The woman was pushed downstairs and kicked and Hindson smashed her TV and hi-fi .
He later struck again in the same street, armed with a knife, making threats of violence.
Hindson threatened to kill the victim in the street.
He then disappeared but returned later.
He said he knew where the woman lived and would burn her house down.
Police were called by a neighbour and as the defendant made his way up a grass embankment.
He picked up a stone and threw it at the woman, causing her to fall over.
