A SHOP manager was arrested by police and spent the weekend in custody after arguing with his girlfriend.
Asif Alli 26, of St Margaret's Way, Blackburn, admitted breach of the peace.
A charge of assault against him was dropped.
Alli, the manager of a mobile phone shop in Rochdale, was bound over in the sum of £200 for 12 months by Blackpool magistrates.
Prosecutor Suzanne Sanders said on September 22 the defendant's partner, Deborah Worthington, with whom Alli shared rented accommodation in Lytham, contacted police.
The prosecutor said: "She told police they had argued and the defendant had thrown her against a fireplace, causing bruising to her back."
Steven Townley, defending, said his client, who had no previous convictions, had always denied the assault.
He added: "He agreed there was a domestic argument with his former partner which resulted in the police being called.
"As he was unable to return to the property they shared, he was remanded in custody over the weekend."
