IWAS angry and disappointed at the car parking facilities for the Under 21s England v Greece match at Ewood Park, Blackburn, on October 5.
I live nearby on Cravens Row and, acting in accordance with the law, I and all my neighbours parked our vehicles at the back of our houses. This involved co-operation between us but, as the night progressed, we found cars parked at the front of our houses.
Later, when we spoke to the driver of one of these vehicles, we were told that he had police permission.
When I rang the police station, I was told that this situation arose because of shortage of manpower, with officers being deployed for the Conservative Party conference.
Is it too much to hope that the 'powers that be' could have envisaged this in advance and so avoided such aggravation and upset?
