EWOOD new-boy Nils-Eric Johansson declared himself satisfied with his debut after helping Rovers through to the fourth round of the Worthington Cup.
Johansson, who only met his new team-mates for the first time on Monday, was thrown in at the deep end last night.
But, after surviving a few nervy moments early on, he quickly adjusted to the pace of the game in England following his move from Germany.
"It's a big compliment to the rest of the team in the way they have helped me settle in," said Johansson.
"I knew if something went wrong, then one of my team-mates would always be there to back me up.
"So I'd like to thank Craig Short, John Curtis and Stig Bjornebye for helping me through.
"It was a little bit different to what I'm used to but the fans and the atmosphere were really incredible and I'd like to say a big thank-you to them, too, for their support."
And Johansson wasn't the only one wearing a smile last night.
Craig Hignett was also delighted to score against his old club after being handed a rare start upfront.
"It was very pleasing not only to score a goal but to win the game as well," said Hignett.
"I haven't played much recently so it was just nice to be involved to be honest.
"It was a great ball from Flitty for my goal to catch a player of Ugo Ehiogu's size out.
"And, as for the game as a whole, I thought Boro played quite well in spells but I don't think anyone could have argued if we'd won it in normal time."
