THE Police Complaints Authority is to look into how a police patrol car collided with the driver of a suspected stolen vehicle.
The 24-year-old Lancaster man sustained a broken hip, broken pelvis, broken knee cap and injuries to his bladder and kidney's following the collision on September 29.
Initial police reports said that the driver of a suspected stolen vehicle collided with a tree while being pursued by several patrol cars.
However, a teenager passenger in the car claims that the vehicle had come to a standstill and the driver was out of the car when the collision occurred.
The man is being treated for his injuries at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and the PCA is investigating.
