HORSE riders are to take to the streets of Rossendale this Saturday for a campaign on road safety.
The British Horse Society aims help motorists understand why it's important to pass riders slowly and with plenty of room.
They will highlight the fact that there are 3,000 accidents a year involving horses.
Six riders have died so far this year on the roads.
And they want riders to join in and pass leaflets out to passing motorists.
The riders will meet at Topthlea Farm, Turn, Ramsbottom, at 1pm.
The route starts at Rochdale Road, to Manchester Road, Shuffleworth, Peel Brow, to the centre of Ramsbottom, before going back up to Bolton Road North and ending at the farm. For details call Miss Becky Goodyear on 01706 219862.
