Burnley Magistrates heard how Stephen Crompton, 20, had been taking drugs for four years but had now gone to seek treatment in a bid to beat his habit.
Crompton, of Market Street, Bacup, admitted burglary at Crown Opticians in Bacup, four counts of theft and two of failing to surrender.
He was remanded in custody until October 22 by the bench, which said he had offended over a short period of time, had failed to turn up for court and not attended for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. T
he magistrates said all sentencing options would be open to the court, including the possibility of committing him to Burnley Crown Court for sentence.
