TRAFFIC was blocked off from Hill Road South, South Ribble, for the best part on Monday afternoon, after an 70 ft tree was blown over in the early hours of Sunday October 7.
A spokesman for South Ribble Borough Council said: "The tree was blown over during the storms on Sunday night. It also took a lamppost down with it so it has caused a lot of inconvenience although I suppose it could have been much worse."
The change in the weather has affected areas all over the county with some parts being given serious flood warnings. Anyone whose home has been flooded can get advice from two new booklets published by the Environment Agency's Flood Awareness Campaign, call 0845 988 1188.
