ARNOLD School has named its new computer room in honour of Sir William Lyons, founder of Jaguar Cars.
Born in Blackpool in 1901, William Lyons was educated at the school and his daughter, Mrs Mary Rimell, returned recently for the unveiling of a special plaque at the official opening of the computer room.
A school spokesman said: "The Lyons Room features state-of-the-art computer technology and resources and it is hoped it will educate a whole new generation of engineers to follow in such illustrious footsteps.
