NEW overseas nurses recruited to work at Fairfield General Hospital have arerived in Bury.
The group of 12, part of a central Government initiative to increase nurses in the NHS, are mainly from Malaysia with one from India and Zimbabwe.
Angela Abbott, executive nurse director, said: "We are very pleased to have the nurses working here. Already we have had very positive feedback from them.
"At the same time by recruiting from abroad we are improving our understanding of different cultures."
She added: "I am always ready to welcome nurses from abroad who want to work or train here."
