BURY'S hospitals bucked the national increase in waiting list figures by recording a reduction of 0.2 per cent.
Nationwide, the number of patients waiting for treatment rose by 0.1 per cent in August compared to the previous month.
Figures published this week show that 2,028 patients were waiting for treatment under Bury Health Care NHS Trust in August compared to 2,032 in July.
However 84 more people were waiting for treatment under Bury and Rochdale Health Authority, 9,479 in August compared to 9,395 the previous month showing an increase of 0.9 per cent.
North Manchester Healthcare NHS Trust had the biggest increase of 3.3 per cent in waiting list figures. In August 4,357 patients were waiting for treatment compared to 4,217 in the previous month.
