A PENSIONER was forced to hand over £50 to two ruthless "workmen."
The thieves struck at 11.40am on Tuesday (Oct 9) in Maudsley Street, Bury, when they called at the home of a 75-year-old woman.
According to police, the men claimed they were calling round in respect of repair work which had been carried out at the house, and demanded cash.
PC John Flowers, of Bury's operational police unit, said: "This was not the case, but the victim felt so intimidated that she handed over £50."
Witnesses are now being sought to help track down the offenders. The first bogus caller is described as white, in his early to mid 40s, 5ft 9in tall, slim with short brown hair. He wore an anorak-type jacket. His accomplice is also white, 5ft 7in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a fawn jacket.
