THIS win in Division One of the Northern League was a good result as Doncaster included a number of players who normally act as substitutes for their 1st XI in National League Hockey.
LSA created many chances early in the match and, after 25 minutes, Chris Hadley slotted home an easy goal from open play. From then on LSA remained the stronger side.
In the second half Doncaster pressed very hard but Paul Hans, especially, and the remainder of the LSA defence stood firm, although they were lucky when a Doncaster shot hit a post. LSA recovered, however, and Chris Nuttall scored the second goal by slotting the ball past the diving keeper.

AFTER wins against two of the strongest sides in the league, Lytham Ladies went out full of confidence. Gilli Cooper put them in front with a well-struck shot from the circle's edge, and then Lian Atkinson superbly converted a penalty corner. Lytham continued to dominate and scored a third when captain Michelle Singleton's final pass was swept home by Ann Preston. Blackpool were unlucky when the ball was cleared off the goal line by Lytham right back Amy Leach with the goalkeeper beaten.
Singleton and Heidi Whitehead (2) completed the scoring for Lytham.
