WHO says that miracles don't happen? I was about to put pen to paper to make a further "Bibles for Zambia" appeal when there was a knock at the door.
Lo and behold -- 22 Bibles on the doorstep. God bless the lovely people responsible.
So, yes indeed, lots and lots more spare Bibles are needed in Zambia. Any translation will be acceptable except the New World translation published by the Watchtower organisation.
This time the heartfelt request comes from Paul Manda and his little church based in Lusaka.
I quote: "My prayer is that every member in the church, registered or not, should have a copy of the Bible. This will form a strong foundation in seeking healing in my land. The soc ial wounds, polictical, economic and even terrorist attacks (Pentagon in USA) can only be healed by applying the word of God. Knowledge comes before application."
Bibles may be left for collection at Records and Relics, 7a-9b Caunce Street, Blackpool from 10.30am to 5pm.
