A BRIDE is yet to receive an explanation six weeks after a photo processing shop ruined her wedding and honeymoon snaps.
Mrs Liz Dean, of Maricourt Avenue, Blackburn, said she was angry that other affected customers of Directfoto had received apologies and compensation, while she had heard nothing.
At the end of August, staff at the store on Ainsworth Street, Blackburn, gave her two rolls of film, a letter of apology and a processing voucher, and told her she was one of many customers whose photos had been 'irretrievably damaged'.
At the time, she and husband Allan said that offer was a 'disgrace'.
She claimed that other customers have since received a £45 goodwill gesture and a letter of explanation.
The letter, sent out in the middle of September, said that a drive train had snapped causing the film to be in the developing tank for an extended period, causing it to become overdeveloped.
Mrs Dean sent two letters dated August 29 and September 22 on the advice of Trading Standards, requesting an explanation.
But she has had no reply as to why the irreplaceable photos from her wedding at Blackburn Register office and honeymoon in Southport were destroyed.
Mrs Dean said: "I'm more angry now than when I found out the photos had been destroyed.
"I thought they would at least have written back to me.
"I want an explanation and some compensation like the other customers have.
"I have written two letters to them and I have had no reply or acknowledgment that they have received my letters.
"I have only received two films and got vouchers on the day I went to pick my film up. I've had nothing else."
Nobody from Directfoto was available to comment.
