A FORMER water tower in Wilpshire is set to be converted into a house.
Ribble Valley Borough Council's planning and development committee agreed to the conversion of the water tower and valve house at Wilpshire former pumping station, off Vicarage Lane.
The application was a resubmission of a previous scheme to convert a sprinkler tank and valve house for residential use, with the new proposals including several design alterations.
The circular-structured tank house will be split over three levels, with the valve house part used as a garage and partly for a pool area.
The previously approved scheme had six port hole style windows in the tower, but this had now increased to 10 traditional sized and styled windows and two slit windows.
One letter of objection was received by the council, expressing concerns over the likely effects on the access lane, which is an unadopted road.
Wilpshire councillor Chris Holtom said the application had previously been refused on two occasions, but had been accepted on appeal.
