VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help clean up the Alkincoats Park nature area in Colne on Friday, October 19.
The Friends of Alkincoats Park and officers from the council's parks department are carrying out a clean-up of litter and debris at the Colne park between 9.15am and 12.30pm.
They will focus on removing rubbish from the nature area and woodlands near to Red Lane.
Any members of the public interested in joining them are invited to meet at Holt House Pavilion, at the top of Harrison Drive, at 9.15am.
Fred Stewart, Pendle Council's park outreach officer, said: "We often get good support from local people in our clean ups of the parks. It's a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours with nice people doing something useful for the local community.
"Any support is always much appreciated. If people just wanted to come along for an hour they would be most welcome.
"They just need to bring appropriate footwear. We will provide gloves and protective clothing."
