BOWLAND Pennine Mountain Rescue Team has been given a £3,000 boost thanks to a former Chorley mayor.
Coun Tom McGowan raised the cash during his term of office as part of his Charity of the Year scheme before handing over his mayoral chains in May to Coun Dennis Edgerley.
And he will presented the cheque to team chairman Crispin Myerscough at the team's Dunsop Bridge headquarters.
The Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team covers the north, west and central areas of Lancashire and is almost entirely funded by public donations.
Volunteers are on call all day, every day, with bases at Preston and in the Trough of Bowland.
