BORO had to endure a frantic last ten minutes after failing to finish off first half chances.
Richard Landen opened the scoring on 17 minutes with a simple header from Jody Banim's cross but further opportunities went begging, most notably David Bean firing over from close range. The second goal came on 82 minutes when Banim finished from a tight angle. Chorley got a goal back within seconds when former Blackrod Town player David Such set up Andy Mason forcing Boro to sweat it out. Midfielder Mark Dempsey was voted man of the match.
