DARWENERS are invited to take part in a community festival being staged later this month.
Co-ordinated by the Community Events Unit, the festival is a celebration of Blackburn with Darwen council working together with the community.
Events in the area include a sponsored walk at Sunnyhurst Woods on October 25.
An afternoon of easy listening and a sing-a-long for the over 55s at Sudellside Community Centre is also being held on the same day.
Or why not try your hand at an archery event at Sudellside Community Centre on October 26, from 6pm to 8pm.
But beware of ghosts and ghouls as a Hallowe'en party is taking place at Darwen Community Centre on the same night. There will be prizes for the best fancy dress, a family quiz and a potato pie supper.
Or why not try your hand at kite making at Sudellside Community Centre on October 27?
From 10am to 11.45am five to eight-year-olds are welcome to join in with this kite making activity.
You can have fun hunting for treasure on October 28 at the River Darwen, Parkway. There are prizes to be won and refreshments available.
And, for Edgworth residents, a tea dance at the Barlow Institute is taking place October 25 between 2pm and 4pm.
For details on any of the events contact the Community Events Unit on 01254 665821 or 07771 808549.
