PUPILS across East Lancashire can brush up on their knowledge of art -- thanks to a Pictures for Schools scheme.
Sainsbury's is donating framed reproductions of 4,000 famous paintings to more than 1,000 UK schools. By the end of the year, half of secondary schools in East Lancashire will have received a set of pictures.
The aims of the scheme are to inspire both children and their teachers, and to encourage an appreciation of art.
