I HOPE some of the £15 million awarded by the government to improve East Lancashire's poorest areas (LET, October 5) is going to be spent in Little Harwood in Blackburn.
Without doubt, it is a deprived area and one that is always left out.
There are houses that are subsiding, disgusting back alleys that need resurfacing, not enough play areas, a too-small community centre, not enough leisure facilities and an overall appearance of neglect.
If some of this money is not spent on Little Harwood, then I sincerely hope that the people who live there will make their views known to the Labour-controlled Blackburn with Darwen Council which always seems to turn a blind eye to this area of town.
H HAMER (Mrs), Lowther Place, Little Harwood, Blackburn.
