A RUGBY union star will make a forward pass through Bury this weekend as part of a mammoth charity walk.
Sporting celebrity Jeremy Guscott will stride through Prestwich along Bury New Road on Saturday, (Oct 20), as part of his Tetley's Trek across the country to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund.
Guscott is aiming to visit all 12 English Premiership rugby grounds before completing his journey on November 10 in Twickenham.
The sporting hero will take 29 days to complete the 800 mile feat, repeating the mammoth journey achieved by cricket star Ian Botham last year.
Guscott is expected to hit the south end of Prestwich near St Mary's Park between 9.30am and 10am before moving up towards the Tesco supermarket. He will continue into Bury along Wellington Road and Market Street, travelling across The Rock and out of the town past Bury General Hospital.
Donations for the Tetley's Trek can be made via the pledge line on 0207 405 0101.
