TACKLING drug misuse will be one of the main topics at this week's Bury East Area Board meeting.
Residents have been urged to have their say on drawing up a list of priorities in an attempt to curb problems caused by drug abuse.
Councillor Trevor Holt, the Area Board chairman, said: "The Government is making significant funds available over the next few years to enable local communities to tackle drug problems in partnership with the Council and the Police.
"We will be looking at the new Communities Against Drugs initiative and this is an opportunity for local people to voice their concerns and also help formulate priorities which can be turned into real action.
Area co-ordinator, Jason Crausby, added: "Also during the evening, there will be a range of other issues to discuss and a 45 minute open forum where items and concerns within the community can be raised."
The meeting is on Thursday, (Oct 18), beginning at 7pm, in the Jubilee Centre, off Mosley Street, Walmersley, Bury. Further information on 253 6349.
