FIVE schools lit up Atherton with their Eurosing 2001 spectacular.
Pupils from Hesketh Fletcher High School in Atherton, Tyldesley's Fred Longworth High, Garrett Hall Primary School in Tyldesley and Hindsford St Anne's and Westleigh Methodist primary schools joined forces to entertain.
The concert, held at Hesketh Fletcher High, was masterminded by Rick Asbury, head of expressive arts at Fred Longworth, to celebrate European Year of Languages.
Mr Asbury said: "The event was a resounding success. The school hall was crammed with people enjoying themselves."
Involving 150 children, the project aimed to bridge the gap between primary and secondary schools' music as well as giving students the opportunity to come together to share their work.
Eurosing also allowed other members of the community to become involved. Music students from Manchester Metropolitan University, teachers and local musicians have given their time to play in the band.
The musical and technical staff at Fred Longworth set up staging, lighting and sound equipment, while Hesketh Fletcher staff decorated the hall and organised rehearsals. Kitchen staff also joined to provide themed food and drinks during the interval.
