CLARETS keeper Nik Michopoulos picked up the award for Nationwide Save of the Month for September at Turf Moor yesterday.
His goalkeeping coach Alex Stepney said: "He really deserves it. The save from Mark Robins' header was outstanding, really special."
The 31-year-old former Greek international, pictured above with his prize, made the save in the 3-0 home win against Rotherham United and Stepney believes he has continued to improve since then.
Then former Manchester United star and England international said: "Nik has been working very hard in training and I think he is reaping the rewards."
But rather than a bottle of champagne, what he really wants now is a clean sheet when Barnsley come to Turf Moor on Saturday.
